Our U.S. colleague, Jim Griffeth, shared with me his paper on the EFM Design fundamentals. Although it is geared to the US market, the paper discuss the fundamental parameters to consider when designing an EFM system.
It gives the introduction of the components of EFM, solar/battery system, antenna systems, historical data editing systems, host scada systems and also covers upstream/midstream/downstream electronic measurement design.
When considering the varied applications many factors make up the process of determining the type of meter, flow computer, radio, Host and power/solar system. Addressing the fundamentals of electronic meter design can cover many technical aspects and it is important to understand how all these technologies tie together to make up a successful system.
